Taking apart an 8800gt.

any alcohol will work though, and lol i forgot that it was kuzba (sorry, kesava, neither names make sense lol) who made those threads, and because of that i retract my first statement.

That cooler should work very well. It has blue LEDs, so if you don't like the lights, you may want to look into something else.

well i already have a blue front fan and cpu cooler...
so it will match nicely. i want a whole system full of zalman copper haha

I use 70% Isopropyl Alcohol applied to a paper towel.

the only alcohol around is like non drinkable stuff. not sure what. haha
im a little scared to put any liquid anywhere near a chip haha. ok ill use a paper towel...

i really have no idea how im going to find the money to buy this. but anyway haha

i forgot that it was kuzba (sorry, kesava, neither names make sense lol) who made those threads, and because of that i retract my first statement.

that makes me feel really good about my name.
hahahha :D

nah i meant the cooler itself, not the alcohol.

so will any strong alcohol do?
i mean like not whiskey and coke... like straight alcohol?

i have been reading stuff along these lines everywhere
you need to buy the RHS88 if you plan on installing the cooler on a GeForce 8800 Series card. If you fail to do so you will damage the card because the I/O chip and RAM circuitry will overheat.

it even says it on the package of the VF1000 itself... but i thought the vf1000 came with all the ram heatsinks and stuff?

i guess they are enough for all the other cards except the 8800 series.

i doubt ill be able to afford to get it now if i need both those things
