my old toshiba p15 was busted and i found out it costs a grand to fix it. so i opened it up completely. i sold the ram, harddrive, and wireless card. is there anything else i can take out from a laptop? like the dvd burner, if i take it out, can i get an adapter and use it as external dvd burner on my new laptop?

from what i know i think its quite hard to get a shell for laptop drives because they are smaller than normal ones. but depending on the computer you should be able to take out the optical drive no problem. the only other problem is finding a buyer. also the barebones can sell for a bit if you can find anyone who wants barebones

Cpu might be a permanent fiture... but you should post the screen or try to sell it to a third party lcd screen replacement place.. New ones are expen$ive...

ooo, screen will bring in money i'm sure. lots of people crack laptop screens. i know its possible to use a laptop screen as your desktop screen, but the trouble it takes might not be worth it. Google should have a guide for you, as i don't know step by step how to do it. I've seen them mounted on the side of desktop cases and sues as "built-in" monitors before, pretty cool.

I don't think keeping the keyboard is beneficial...but thats just me.

1.u may sell the screen for sure. and in some case the motherboard.

2.the DVD burner may be used as external device but u will a converter, u may find it. but it may be use an internal DVD burner in anycase for ur new system. u may sell the other drive.

3. U can sell Keyboard.

4. even the chassis may sold.

5. go to a PC repair shop, they will buy the whole junk in one go..:)
