Taking out AGP card

Hi all,

I finaly have some free time to clean out my computer tonight.

I want to know if the AGP graphics card just pulls out like a Pci card?

Because i noticed that an AGP graphics card has a type of hook at the end like on this pic...(Not my card)

Do i just lift the front side out and then lift the hook out?

I wonna remove my Graphics card so i can clean the fan properly on it.

Hi,

Yeah i noticed the tab,

I was gonna just pull back that tap and lift the card out of the slot making sure that hook things cleared the tab.

We are not all professionals on here you know.:cool:

Im a noob,Ive done a few basic things inside a computer like added ram,Put in Pci sound cards and a few other stuff.

But ive never removed a AGP card,Yes may be funny to you.

I just wasnt to be sure about that tab.:D

Anyhow,I got it out and it was simple,Cleaned the fan and put the card back in and its all working fine.
 
Took me a while to figure out the tab worked the first time too :) But i just played around with it and it eventually slid out nicely.

Lol i feel a little stupid now posting this because it was so easy.

But i just wanted to check and i got my answer and got the job done so im happy.

yeahh, same here, my 240 was the 1st computer i have had that has a AGP slot lol, all the others were PCI, when i got it i was like "wtf is that?" lol....and i also have a huge looking PCI slot, that i forgot what the heck it was called, never seen 1 of those in my life..

but yeah, now you know how 2 take a AGP card out lol..
 
i had trouble pulling out my pci-e card lol, i felt just as stupid. it took me a while to figure it out.
 
My new mobo has a new, "better" tab/lock where you have to pull back on a spring-loaded tab, making it much harder to take out the card because instead of just one finger to pull back the tab, you have to stick your whole hand down to pull back the tab..... I think I have a picture somewhere on the site....
