what is a .tar file?
I downloaded osCommerce and this was the file it downloaded. what do i do with it?

.tar is a compressed file, u can extract it using WinRAR.

What Sebouh said. Tar files are just another type of compressed file, but not as often found as zip files thats probably why you didn't know what it was
