task manager & shutdown prob

New Member
i can't open my task manager and can't see the shutdown button in the start menu

and when try to shutdown using Alt+F4 key it shows the following error

"THIS OPERATION HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE RESTRICTIONS IN EFFECTS ON THIS COMPUTER. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SYSTEM OPERATOR."

AND EVEN THE "RUN " IS MISSING FROM MY START MENU

BUT THERE IS NO PROBLEM WHEN I LOG ON WITH ANY DIFFERENT AACOUNT OF MY COMPUTER.
SO IT MAY NOT BE ANY VITUS OR TROJJAN PROBLEM.

PLEASE HELP

it means that the account has been restricted by some software such as windows steady state (not saying it is that though). If you don't want it to anymore (and you don't know what the software might be) then save the stuff you want from your profile onto somewhere else on your hard drive, logon as someone else and delete your account then create it again, logon, put all your stuff back on it and it should be ok.

my hijackthis log file if any spyware or problems plz let me know

Hello maxigladi,

I will help you get rid of the problem you're having.
My first question is, do you have administrator rights? Did somebody put restrictions on your computer?

Also, your Hijackthis is out of date:
To get the newer version,
  • Click here to download HijackThis Installer
  • Save HijackThis Installer to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick on the HijackThis Installer icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.

Ok I really can't find the source of the problem, it might not be a spyware.
To be sure, I'm going to ask you to run two online scans:
One from Kapersky and one from Panda

Kapersky online scan:
Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky,
Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:

    • Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
    • Scan Options:

    • Scan Archives Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:

    • Select My Computer
  • The program will start and scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
    • Now click on the Save as Text button:
  • Save the file to your desktop.

Panda Online Scan
Run Panda's ActiveScan from here and perform a full system scan.
- Once you are on the Panda site click the "Scan your PC" button
- A new window will open...click the big "Check Now" button
- Enter your Country
- Enter your State/Province
- Enter your e-mail address and click send
- Select either Home User or Company
- Click the big Scan Now button
- If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
- It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It will take a couple minutes)
- Click on "Local Disks" to start the scan
- Save the log file to your desktop

Make sure you don't run these scans at the same time. Do one, then the other.

In your next reply, I will need your Kapersky log, your Panda Log then a fresh Hijackthis log. If you have any questions, don't hesitate :D

has the problem just occured, was the account working before. Why do you have multiple accounts, do you have access to an admin account.
These are all questions that need answering
Spyware is a possibility but not the most probable one especially given that you have nod running :)
this line looks weird
cmd.exe /C move /Y "%SystemRoot%\System32\syssetub.dll" "%SystemRoot%\System32\syssetup.dll"

I cant see anything obvious in your hjt logs. Run the scans in this sticky
http://www.computerforum.com/64161-essential-read.html

cmd.exe /C move /Y "%SystemRoot%\System32\syssetub.dll" "%SystemRoot%\System32\syssetup.dll"

This is actually the only part I was looking for info on...
I had never seen this before, this is why I am making him run Online Scans.

cool, its something do do with user creation, seems odd to me. Thought id highlight it
i prefer to run the local scans before moving to the panda online scans....but no reason.
Anyway all the scans are in the sticky :D you know that one labels Essential Read!!!! :D :D

I assume he has run local scans before posting here...
Anyway let's wait for his logs.

Kapersky DOES delete.

These are online scans, they do not require you to change Anti-virus. They are totally free. If you want me to help you, I will need those logs.
