can you post screenshots of your network properties pages? A tcp/ip problem is something that you would normally take up with your ISP not Dell support.

yea thats what i thought, how would dell be able to get to your computer, they dont do internet!my isp says it needs re configuring, could you tell me what mite have caused this so i can maybe follow it back?thanx
rick

Well, do you have a cable modem or a router? You have to give us more information than your internet isnt working.

Network connections

Go to the control panel click on network connections. Then right click on your dsl conection and check the properities make sure the tcp/ip is checked.

Any changes?

Did you make any changes to the other network connections? The local network connection must not be disconnected.

go to run in the start menu then type in "ipconfig /release" press enter, then after that's done type in "ipconfig /renew" then press enter again.
hope this helps.
