i have a msi kt3ulta2 motherboard with a AMD 2200+ chip .
but the chip is only running at 1500+ because my bios fsb is set to 100mhz but if i set the fsb to 133mhz the chip shows correcly at 2200+ but after a while the system shuts down and reboots it will not stay stable at 133mhz and i cant understand this.
i have changed graphics card because i thought it was a fault with that.
and i have changed memory but sill to no avail.
can anyone shed light on this as i am loosing some major power here.
thanks in advance

set the fsb to auto or hardware settings
or what dave says get a 2200+ heatsink/fan for your cpu or get a 2800+ heatsink/fan to make it run really cool with no probs

I need help

I want to overclock my cpu to 2.7ghz from a 1.8ghz.
heres my system
CPU: AMD 3000 socket 939 (10% overcloced to 1.98ghz)
RAM: 1GB pc 3200 dual channel 400mhz
HD: 160GB SATA hard drive
Video card: Ati x800 Pro 256mb pci-e
Motherboard: ASUS A8N-Sli Deluxe
Power: 500 watt power-supply
Cooling: 6x 80mm fans on case, 2X 80mm fans on power, 1X 80mm fan on cpu and whatever size on vid card. And please don't tell my the warnings about overclocking. I already know!:)

the temp of the chip set at 133mhz runs at 55-62 degress i did not think this would be to hot.
and i have set the board to shutdown at 70-75 degrees so could it still be cooling.
i can run the fan faster with the msi program called pci alert and yes it does keep it cool. but will this put a lot of strain on the fan

if i buy a new fan + heatsink what dimension will i need i have seen a 2800+ but not sure of the size

my system still shuts down at 100mhz but if i put the old chip back in 1500+ it seems ok. so i have ordered a 2800+ heatsink and fan to try with the 2200+ chip. this board is supposed to be ok upto 2800+ chip. i am begginning to think it maybe the 2200+ chip that is at fault.
