Technically Challenged - Need Help!!!

The above is true - I'm 66 years old and use the computer mainly for the internet and to send emails. I'm interested in decorating and often visit decorating forums. One that I like is Home & Garden TV. For some reason I cannot view the submitted photos - I can read the question posed but I'm unable to see the attached photo. A circle with a line through it appears in red. I emailed HGTV and was advised to be sure I'm using the latest version of my browser which is Mozilla Firefox. They also advised to download Adobe Flash - which I did and also to empty my cache (I had no idea what this was) but I found it and it is now empty as well as deleted cookies and verified that my browser is set to enable cookies. As you can see this is not earth shattering but if someone would take the time to respond (in simple terms) it would be appreciated. Thanks. PS- We are customers of Optimum in NJ - they provide our cable, TV and phone - through Cablevision.

Hello and welcome to CF!

The latest Firefox is 2.0.0.12. It usually updates automatically, but just to verify you are using the newest version, click on Help at the top of the screen, then About Mozilla Firefox. The very last string of numbers in the box that pops up is the version you are running.

Next, I'd make sure you have everything stored on Firefox wiped clean, just in case something is creating some bad picture mojo. This can be done by clicking Tools, Options, then the Privacy tab. In the last little info box on the screen that pops up, there will be a 'Clear Now' button. Click it and another window will open; select what you want, then click 'Clear Private Data Now'. Everything you had stored (websites, passwords, history, etc.) will all be deleted and Firefox will have a 'fresh start' so-to-speak. Next, Click the Content tab and make sure the four top boxes are all checked. Click OK and give it a try.

Those two steps usually clear up the majority of website problems. Post up with how everything works out.

Another thing to look at:
Tools > Options > Content and make sure the box is checked to "Load Images Automatically". Then click OK and try again.
Tom

EDIT: Dopey me; didn't see that up above in the previous post.

Indeed, hence:
Next, Click the Content tab and make sure the four top boxes are all checked.
:D
On a totally un-related subject, Oven, Kelsey Grammer is the reason I started to like Beast. Rogue's still my favorite though:)

D'oh! I totally missed that "...make sure the four top boxes are all checked." Aarrgghh!!

:headbash:

I guess I'm Literacy Challenged. :(
