My sister bought a DELL Inspiron 537s at BestBuy. They upgraded to a 21.5" HD monitor but we forgot to get a HD video card. I really don't feel like opening up the pc and installing a video card on a brand new pc. What are my options? My sister is on a budget, so if anyone can help me out here, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

It's really not that hard to replace a video card. You just remove the cover and remove the older GPU from the slot and put another one in. I'll recommend video cards, but you kinda have to tell me your budget.

You also need to call Dell to verify what video cards that model will support. Their power supplies are cheap and low rated, you might have to upgrade power supply if thats possible.

Yeah, at most you may be able to throw a 4350 in there without having to upgrade the power supply, dell's units can barely power the computer itself, let alone any upgrades.

you forgot to add an HD video card or you forgot to add a video card all together? HD monitor just means its capable of the higher resolutions and any "newer" video cards should be able to display these higher resolutions, even video components with only 32mb of dedicated video memory like the specs on that Dell says.

^yep, i was just gonna say the same thing, you dont need to change your video card, or onboard video card, it should do fine.

You won't get a HD connection without using the HDMI connection on a video card. Most likely the onboard video only has the vga connection, not hdmi.
