tell me why im averging? 50-60 frames in counter strike source with my specs in my sig? before with my intel cpu running 2.4ghz and my x850 agp pro i was averging 100 frames?
 
did you change any settings? maby your were running on lower setting when you had the 850 and now your running at alot higher setting. also do you have vsync on? cuz you should turn that off.

btw can you really see the difference between 100 and 60fps?

You may not be able to see the FPS change through your eyes, but performancewise, yes.

Even with my old comp (A64 3200+, x800GTO) i got anwhere from 50-150FPS, so he should at least get a constant 100+FPS.

What are you using to see the FPS?
 
...i basacally got a whole new comp. everything is new. oh yea.... and shouldnt downloads dl alot faster? it doesnt really seem mutch faster comming from my 2.4ghz p4. you either use the stress test (wich is only in counter strike source) or type net_graph 1 in console and a little screen will come up in the bottom right saying your fps. doesnt make sense
 
loooool, download speed doesnt have nothing to do with your computer components, your d/l speed will be the same with a FX-60 or a Pentium 1 cpu, it doesnt depend on your computer equipment

This statement is very true.

We have almost the same computer except for the processor. That 7800 GT should be getting you well over 100 fps. I get anywhere from 150 to 200. Are you sure you don't have anything running the back ground?
 
ewwww.... discusting... i just averaged 43.91 fps on the video stress test.... this doesnt make sense... what do you mean by running the background?

my mistake i meant "running in the backgroud". <--- sorry its late here and i've had a long day. I meant do you have any background applications running that would take system resources.
 
Have you downloaded the latest drivers? What resolution are your running CSS at? Whats your video cards temp?
 
i have a question.... my mobo supports sli mode... theres this like... sli chip that is in between the 2 pcie16 slots. if im only running 1 card and this is in would this be dividing my frames? is there some card that should go in there when im not usuing sli mode?
 
Its the see through power supply.. draining your Frames!

Have you optimezed the settings? allocated system ram? AHHH didnt thing so.

i get avg 94.6 on the stress test.. ;)
 
all my settings are at high. with my 2 gig ram theres no lagg except for frame lagg sometimes. and what do you mean by allocated system ram?

could it be the thing that i stated before? theres this sli card inbetween the 2 pcie16 slots but i only have one card. could this be trying to devide my frames into 2 cards but i only am running one?
