Temp rise and OCing

Ok. I was playing C&C Generals this evening and I noticed my CPU temp had shot up by over 20degrees C . Is this normal?

Also, I was thinking of OCing my CPU. What's some good gear to buy?

K7s dissipate a lot of heat. I'd guess it goes from the 40s to the 60s? Don't know too much about what K7 coolers are good, but one of the AMDers will

goes from 30s to 50s

I turned it on before reseting it before i played generals and it clocked it at being 22C...dont know what was going on there...might have been coz I hadnt had it on for a couple of days.

30s to 50s isn't bad for an athlonXP, thats a pretty standard jump

Silentboost K7 surprisingly is quite good for a dinky quiet fan. The Volcano12s are nice all around

Yeah, I printed it all off (if thats ok with you?) and shall give it a good read through tonight...gotta have something to do aside from college work

Is it worth OCing everything or just the CPU? What are the advantages of OCing (for example) RAM?

LOL sure, read, print, spread. As for OCing, the CPU is quite often, not a bottleneck at all. The memory is where the lag is at. You're performance boost will prolly be more significant if you did just-RAM vs just-CPU (of course nothing is stopping you from doing both)
