The P4s and Ds alike are known for higher average temps. But what is seen on newer AMD as well as Intel is a lower power consumption meaning lower operating temps. But they also have lower max temp thresholds to contend with. The max temp seen on many models is about 60-65C. That's quite a bit lower then the old 85-90C limits.
