Temps on a E6600

But could the high temps be a result of Velocity Micro putting too much Artic Silver on the CPU? (My ambient temp is 23C)

Once again, my temps are 42C idle/55-57C load, and 36C idle/50C load for the individual cores (according to TAT).

Another thing, I have a NVIDIA Geforce 8800GTS 320MB factory-superclocked. Could that be giving off a lot of heat, causing higher CPU temps?

Yeah, they're known to give off a lot of heat!
I would try some Arctic Silver 5 on there and see if that helps :)

Velocity Micro already has it on the CPU, it comes standard with the heatsink I got from them (the Artic Silver 5). Is it necessary to re-apply? And,
is there a way to like block the heat from the video card, so it doesnt influence the CPU's heat?

The video card uses an exhaust fan, so the majority of the heat is sucked out the back of the case.

But to help you can buy a PCI slot cooler.

Anyone? My GPU runs in the high 50's, would that have any temperature effects on the CPU?

Once again, could Velocity Micro put too much Artic Silver, making the temps hotter, any other options, do I need to re-apply AS5? Or am I just stuck with the temps (on air cooling)?

I find it unlikely that too much TP was applied to the heatsink. It may have been installed incorrectly however. You could reaply if you want, I don't think you'll see a drop in temperature.

As long as you have adequate airflow through your case (back fan + side/front fan minimal) the GPU shouldn't have an effect on the CPU. If you live in a hot place (Louisiana is hot right? lol) then Your temps will be a little higher then normal.

You said with the case off it settles down abit, right? Why not just leave the case off and forget about it? :)

Would the temps let me overclock it to 3 ghz??? Another question, my intake fan on the front has a grate in front of it, would removing it lower the case temps? and I read somewhere if you tilt your intake fan, cool air gets to the CPU easier, how should I go about doing this?

Ok, but will the temps still be acceptable at that voltage?

Ok, I have a Artic Freezer 7 Pro with AS5, so I think that SHOULD be good. Should I pay attention to the CPU temp or the Core temps, or pay attention to both of them. I know 60C is very high for CPU, what is the max for the individual cores?

You're temps are already alittle high, I wouldn't raise the voltage at all, just put a divider on the RAM and raise the FSB till it gets unstable or won't boot. Then dial the FSB back till everythings running nicely and you're done.
