Temps to cold for CPUs

i was jw , i was reading another thread and i just got to thinking, can you make it too cold for a cpu to work , i mean are there downfalls to making the temperature too cold , like what could happen to it ??????????

Some chips have a cold bug, meaning they will lock up, or cease to function if to cold. But generally the colder the better.

I'm sure I'm not alone in envying you jutnm...but uhh, I wouldn't worry about temps getting too low. Being in your situation is amazing, I would overclock to my hearts content with a c2d if i were you.

Theres no problem with the CPU being at or around freezing for long term use, and people are even able to get the CPU to under -100C, and still runs strong.

wow really ,ya i saw that nVidia commercial like the mastercard one, the guy uses liquid nitrogen and a copper slug to cool his cpu down, pretty awesome i thought, well for now i can dream about freezing my cpu and not having to worry about it

I've seen computers literally completely encased in a fridge or freezer. Only thing to worry about then it condensation when the hot parts meet the cold air.
