I have a ThermalTake heat sink and fan. It's called the Silent Tower. It's a big sucker, but the fan only runs at 2500RPM.
My CPU idles at 48C and hits 65C after playing CounterStrike for about an hour.
I've for a 120mm case fab in the back, and an 80mm case fan on the side door.
I wish I knew how to crank my ThermalTake fan speed up to about 4000RPM. I don't like seeing that 65C on the CPU
I'm thinking about drilling a blow hole in the top of the case and slap another 80mm fan in there.
On the case fans:
Do you guys set them to always blow OUT? Or do you have an INTAKE fan in the front somewhere to pull in fresh air from outside the case?
I've got my fans set to blow OUT.
Thanks
The silent tower fan can't go a ny higher then 2500rpm unfortionatly. You should have an intake fan in the front of your case. Have the side window fan become an intake and have an exhaust fan in the back of the case. If you want, a blowhole at the top will help to blow hot air out of the case.
I have it set up this way and my cpu load temp does not go past 39C.
