Testing hard drive for errors?

Hi all..

looking for opinions for software to thoroughly search my hard drive for errors... I ran a checkdsk /r which found no errors... I want to doublecheck my hard drive is not damaged because its making a strange noise sometimes.

Actually download the one for dos. It's an ISO file, burn the iso to a cd and boot to the cd and run the extended test.
