testing harddrives

Hey guys/gals

i was wondering if there were software or something in bios to tell me if my harddrives are functioning correctly. I just bought 4 1tb HDs and before i raid them i wanted to make sure they all are functioning... is it possible to do this? I also have a Thermaltake BlacX external harddrive connector thing a ma bob.... if that helps haha

I don't know about testing them in the bios but I would hook them up to a already functioning computer and test the drives separately with HD Tune.

If I remember correctly, I used it on my F3 and it worked fine, so you should be good to go

Burn it to a disc or put it on a USB drive and boot from it with your drives in your system. It will load up the hard drive utility, and you just follow the instructions. It can take a while though especially when you are going to be testing a total of 4TB storage
