Tethering my Phone

I need some tips on how to get internet access on my PC via my phone. I would really like to know if there are prepaid phones that I can use, tether it, and use it for internet connection. If not whats a cheap alternative phone plan? Are there any other ways to get internet on the go??

**Also** I forgot to mention but I have an unlocked cell phone, currently has a "gophone" sim card in it, they offer a 100MB data plan for 20$ a month how quickly will you go through that for general web surfing??

100MB will not get you far at all. My iPhone uses 300-450MB per month alone. Most data plans charge $50-$60 per month for 5GB.
 
Yeah, I totally agree, you'll go through that pretty quick; plus I can't imagine that a pre-paid phone data plan is going to be a great connection speed for your computer at all...
