thanks for helping me build my first computer but there seems to be one little bug. i can listen to music on my desktop and when surfing internet but whenever i play a game (hellgate london or spore) there is no sound, just static.

Try updating the driver for sound card, make sure the sound is activated in the games, make sure the speaker is ON, make sure it is plugged in the right port, make sure the sound is not set for MUTE in windows volume control (double click on the speaker icon in the notification bar)
