that annoying line moving up

I just rebuilt my desktop with a brand new GTS 250 and I have plugged it into my old CRT monitor which, as far as I know, was perfectly fine. It came with the default res of 800x600, which I immediately bumped up to 1280x1024

Now that I have done that, I have a bar that keeps moving up (I guess because of the vertical refresh or something)

Is this a problem with my monitor or should it be fine after I install new video drivers? (running off default now)

also I am using windows 7 RC

In my experiences, that generally means that the monitor is about on its last leg. If you have another computer, plug in the monitor to test and make sure that it's not something wrong with the graphics card.

Chances are, that since it's a BRAND NEW Graphics card, that's not the problem.

actually I just installed the drivers and it went away

but I do think the monitor is going to die because after you turn it on, the picture slowly falls down the screen

I don't think you can say Windows 7 and CRT in the same paragraph! Isn't that the same as having a new Camaro engine in a 1800's covered wagon?

I kid, I kid......
