That New Virus. What a bugger

ive got the virus ive been reading about on CNN and BBC. Everything is virutally disabled i had to reboot from disk, malwarebytes does not work any more, virus scanners aren't picking up anything, this sucker burrowed in deep. Can you help me get my computer back?

I know this request is going to sound dumb and im not sure if its against the rules, but if something happens to my computer this is my only available computer please send me an email, sorry if its against rules but with this virus, i don't know how long ill have my computer, my email is hooked up to my blackberry, i will appreciate any help. eric[at]qbstech[dot]com

Hi techjunkie08,

It's not against the rules to post your email address, but spam bots do operate on these forums. I have obfuscated your address, which will hopefully reduce the number of spam bots that can detect it.

Your log reveals a backdoor trojan. These can severely compromise personal information which could lead to identity theft.

I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or it if it contains any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.

Though the Trojan has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC may already be compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. I decided to just reformat and re install. I lost everything but when my documents were corrupted i thought what the heck.

im re installing everything at it seems to be going fine, I just need to download everything again.
 
I know it's a pain to have to reinstall everything, but in cases like this it really is the best way. Be sure to scan any backups you have with your antivirus program before restoring them.
