the best 462 socket processor money can buy

just dont ask why my computer has a crappy 462 socket and just tell me what is the best 462 socket AMD processor that money can buy? or can some1 give me a list of AMD 462 socket processors with AT LEAST 1.5Ghz......

depends, the best alone is the 3200+ barton, but with a good motherboard and some nice cooling and RAM, it quickly becomes the 2500+ barton as it overclocks like a dream

well as much as i would like to take that offer sadly i live all the way in the philippines so just shipping that i would have to wait for like one month or so....

and btw... my mobo has an FSB of 100Mhz or 133Mhz (not sure ) does the processor that i have to buy have to match with the FSB of my mobo or can i just buy and processor as long as it is 462?
 
i guess my esimate of a 266MHz FSB was off...


you'll need to upgrade to a better motherboard to get a better processor...

the cap for your motherboards FSB might be 133MHz though, so you might be able to upgrade to an Athlon 1.3GHz so about a 1500+, if your lucky then you can get up to a 1900+
 
so thats the best CPU i can get with this mobo? a 462 socket AMD Athlon 1.3Ghz to sum it all up? but i still have one question that is bothering me.... does the processor that i have to buy have to match with the FSB of my mobo or can i just buy any processor as long as it is 462?
 
one more thing and my final question. since i can't seem to find my mobo and cpu manual i just wanted to know how do i overclock my processor? do i need a software program or sumthing?
 
umm my mobo is from PCchips and my CPU amd duron and i think my dad built in back in 2003 so its not branded if thats wat ur asking..... also i have everest installed on on my comp and it says that the max clock speed for my CPU is 1200 Mhz
