THE best multiplayer pc game

my favorite

would be Guild Wars because im hooked im a addict been at this game for a year and still play the hell outta it got over 2000 hours on it beat proph factions and nightfall and almost got eye of the north beat

starcraft

Duke Nukem - shrinking people and then stomping them was awesome

Quake2/3 - some of the best FPS mutli player I ever played

CounterStrike - though CSS is not as good as the previous versions

Rainbox Six Vegas

Command and Conquer

command and conquer: tiberium wars
command and conquer: red alert 2
starcraft
command and conquer: tiberium wars 3(EA really dropped the ball, westwood was way better with this series)

Rainbow six vegas 2, the coop is amazing, it's basically the entire story mode except your buddy replaces one of the allied ai. That's how all co-ops should be!

You need Lan though, but you can just use hamachi to set-up a virtual lan over the internet.

Agreed!!!

to me, what makes a multiplayer game great is it ability to allow a bunch of guys to get together a have some of the greatest moments of there life

too me a fps could never do this so i have to say that the win goes to the rts genre

from what i hear, sins of a solar empire is supposed to be good...but i havnet played it yet.

World in conflict is also supposed to be tons of fun (but once again, waiting for a new comp before i try it :( )

which rts would you recomend for a noob? no wow~!

GTA IV kicks ass, but Xbox 360 only ATM

i like COD4 and Rainbow six, las vegas 2 though.

EDIT: i also stress RTS games, they rule, utterly and completely lol. Sins of a solar empire has a large learning curve but the game is frikken MASSIVE and is lots of fun.

i could also point out a few great NON multiplayer games, that had a grip on my life for a few days each! Mass effect is, in my opinion, one of the greatest games to come out in a long long time.

if your just getting started into the rts world world in conflict has one of the lowest learning curves ive ever seen. Supreme commander is more intermediate. Company of Heroes would be great for you after you've mastered both
