Hi there, I've been wondering if you could collaborate to gather information about the best OS on different categories. Hope you can help me with your opinion. You can post about the category that you have knowledge about.

Best OS for web development.
Best OS for games(PC, Nintendo, etc.) developers.
Best OS for programmers.
Best OS for an office.
Best Os for home.
Best Mobile OS.

At the end maybe we can give a liitle BEST OS AWARD for the best of them all.

I'll have a go.

Best OS for web development.= Linux
Best OS for games(PC, Nintendo, etc.) developers.= Windows
Best OS for programmers.= Don't know
Best OS for an office.= W7 Pro
Best Os for home.= W7 HP
Best Mobile OS.= Android
 
Okay powerpack thank you for your contribution. I'm almost agree with you in all of them, except on the Best OS for game programming...
 
I'll be honest the only ones I have strong opinion on is Linux for Web, Android for mobile. I like Windows for home use because it is what I use and think it generally has the greatest software/hardware options.

I don't have a strong opinion on the rest. I lack the expertise.

As far as opportunities opening up go -- Meego will be put in automobiles and infotainment apps are needed; android for custom apps; and webOS is in the game, too, for what its name suggests.
