What is the best card to get right now? I am looking at either a 7800gtx or a 7900gt? Why does the 7800gtx cost more than the 7900gt when the 7900gt just came out? Is there any better cards out there right now? I want the best I can get and not have to upgrade for a year or two.
 
The 7900GT is a slightly better performer than the 7800GTX. The 7900GTX, X1900XT and X1900XT are better, but obviously considerably more expensive. The 7900GT would be my pick of video cards at the moment (as you may have guessed by my sig), but don't expect to run new games at high settings after 2 years.
 
7900GTX and x1900XTX are pretty similar, they both win at some gaming tests, and some types of 3DMark tests.
