the better CPU

I just like to know from other ppl's experience with an Intel dual core CPU.

The E8400? or...whats the best one to overclock and get the best performance? Cant afford extreme :)

Also what would be the best MOBO choice for your opinions on CPU's compatibilty?

E8400 is a terrific chip period..

For overclocking it is a dream. 4.0ghz is gauranteed.

We have a range of e8400 owners with everything from stock to 4.6ghz overclocked.

Best mobo, and best within your budget are going to yeild different answers.

Do you have a budget?

You want x-fire board or sli board.?

I can recommend my ASUS Rampage Formula x48..its loaded with every feature you can imagine, the build quality is ridiculously awesome, and its designed for gamers, overclockers, and enthusiasts alike.

It's not cheap but, you get what you pay for...Big Time!
 
well from my other thread i started with comparision between the ati and Nvid...i cxant decide on a card or sli or whatever yet...my budget is 1350CAN and i dont oreder, just from a local cheap store.

soo far 340$ is spoken for, for a monitor, mouse and keyboard so far. so about 1000 is left for the Pc build now.

The x48's will be droppin in price very soon, as will a few other boards with new releases coming next month.

If you can hold on a bit,, wait till a discount comes and get an x48.

Grab a 4800-series ati card for graphics. These are gonna drop too.
 
would a dual be ok for now as in the near future need will be quad! I have a quad now but its amd 9550.

i know amds cheaper, but Im almost thing that intel E8400 would be faster in the end.

Is this right?
 
k one last question lol...

What about the E8500 for extra 25bux for the extra 0.16 GHz...worth it?

prolly not since the E8400 is highly OC'able right!
 
na there is not point spending an extra 25 bux on 0.16 GHz, just go for the E8400, like someone said you will get 4.0 GHz out of it no problem
 
I did think about that, and it seems like it would be a problem. Byt what I keep coming back to is the fact that, at least under UNIX, processor usage can be allocated using nice. This is far beyond my technical capacity, but it just seems like there has to be a way to efficiency grant a process usage of the processor at a given amount without simply splitting seconds.
