everytime windows starts up i get a error box sayin windows microsoft has recoverd from a serious error, also everytime im playing a game such as CS or HL2 or FABLE, either right away or after a lil while the pc shuts down to a blue screen stating a bunch of crap like memory dump etc... ive ran a virus/spyware check ive defragged, did chkdsk, cleaned up the registry ..... do i need to reinstall windows, could i just put in a windows xp disc and is their just a repair option?

first question, did you overclock your computer? i think you did cuz that wouldnt appear, at least when i downclocked mine a bit it was fine

You mentioned a memory dump.....could possibly be a DIMM of your RAM is failing. When Windows loads into that RAM and the RAM craps out, BSOD makes its unwanted appearance.

Also, next time you get a BSOD, note the errors.....it may say something like x00000004123 or something.....take note of it and post it here.

you should get the error number and google it. Or post it here and maybe someone will know what to do, but google usually leads you to a solution website. works for me.

k it did it agian, seems like if i run other programs while playin games is when it does it, but if i have nothing else open while playing the game it seems to stay fine but heres the code...

0x00000004 (0xE2EDB550, 0x000000FF, 0x00000000, 0x80563DBA)

ok I did some brief googling on your error code but due to time constraints wasn't able to come up with much.....if anyone else knows anything please speak your peace! What I am recommending is for you to goto http://www.memtest86.com/ , download that program and test your memory. It would be a good starting point.
