The thread for TES V: Skyrim (Gonna be the best game ever oblivion is definitely the best so far) :)

2 trailers have been released check them out if you haven't all ready ;)

I just hope they stop focusing so much on graphics and stick to Morrowind mindset with this title. Oblivion was too small and too short with crappy mod tools and limited content, thus there were only a handful of good mods which really killed the games greatness imho. The game was still good but it could have been much better had they put more priority on the actual RPG side and gave the community better modding tools. I also pray that they get a better engine that is more tuned than Oblivions just for the visual as well as future mods that increase resource load.

With that said I admit I can't wait for it....I just hope its more like Morrowind and less like Oblivion as far as size/story/gameplay goes.

However Morrowind beats Oblivion without trying.....play both and you will see what I mean. I can easily soak 200+ hours into 1 Morrowind save with mods/etc. Add in the "toughness" mod and you can easily do 300+ hours due to the rebuff of all mobs/etc.

Looking at the screens I have of the game in my magazine, I have to say that they really gave the people an overhaul. The women look like WOMEN without manly features.

And the features that they've covered in the magazine about the game play thus far sounds like they'll make it a bit more technical and "real" in terms of not being able to shoot fireballs while you're slashing your sword. One or the other, etc.

I'm still trying to decide if I want it on my PS3 or 360 (DO NOT BASH ME FOR THIS - I have reasons). From what I've heard they'll be pretty much the same on both... but I have Oblivion on 360 so I dunno.

Sadly console wont be better choice till you guys have keyboards and mouses to play the games :P The worst part on console side is you can't mod the game at all which is what makes these titles the greatest. Its like your playing a "half finished" product. I just hope they make it for PC first...then consoles as I don't want some crappy port based off limited hardware and cruddy controls.

So anyone else still anticipating this title in November or has it fallen by the wayside? I know when my computer is fully completed it'll be more than able to play SKYRIM. I just wonder if it'll have some nice mods for it i.e. DMRA BBB for Oblivion.:good:

The end of the year is going to be expensive for me gaming-wise.

I'm wanting, in no particular order....

Dark Souls
Skyrim
Battlefield 3
Uncharted 3
MW3

and a few more I'm forgetting.

Which leads me to consider getting most of those on the PS3. That way I can resell them once I'm finished. My PC is strong enough to everything on good settings, but in recent years I buy and resell for close to what I paid. Especially if I can get them used to start with.

I wish it wasn't like that as I like games better on the pc.

Yup, Uncharted 3 for sure for me, thinking about Skyrim. Glad in some ways that Mass Effect 3 got pushed back until Q1 next year... And then there's the new Tomb Raider game which is Q3 next year and that looks freakin' awesome!!!

Yes, I have to agree. The end of the year is going to be very expensive in terms of gaming for me as well. I want BF3, Dead Island, Skyrim, MW3, etc. Imma still get them all for PC though. Ive never been one to trade in games or sell them. Sometimes by keeping them here, its easier than selling it and wanting to play it again and buying it again.

I used to be that way. However I have games, with boxes, going back to the 80's. They just sit around and take up space. Thankfully the boxes got smaller as time went on.

I was looking at my copy of Jedi Academy yesterday and thinking "what am I ever really going to do with this"?

I've listed the older stuff on Craigslist a few times, but the used pc game market is very weak. I even started buying games on steam just to save the space.

The multiplayer for that was amazing. the memories just from looking at the case would be worth more to me than the 10 dollars back from it

Yeah all those Jedi games were great. Academy was the weaker one though. I don't know why we haven't seen another one yet. I'd love to see the OT made in that style. Switching or choosing which character you want to play.

I do have a lot of great gaming memories, and I'd hang on to a few games, but most were just stuff I bought and played. I've been trying to be less of a packrat these days, and with all my hobbies and interests that gets hard.

10 bucks for Jedi Academy is about impossible. I let it go for $1, or maybe even free with a few others just to know that someone else was playing it instead of it collecting dust here.

I probably have 200+ old games around the house. Most of the old console stuff I've sold except for my Atari and NES stuff. I have a kid on the way in January. I'm looking forward to letting them play them before they get exposed to the PS4.

Is this not amazing???

I cannot wait for this game.

if you actually have to think about getting Skyrim then its not the game for you ;D

I saw some screens last week comparing the races in Skyrim to what was used in Oblivion... WOW. They put a lot more work into making them actually look... wow. Such a difference.

I'll try to find them.

ok so this thread died, but im gonna bump it as the game is being released soon, i have looked more and more at this game and im getting even more exited looks so good

This is my most anticipated game of the past few years, even before they announced it I was hoping for another Elder Scrolls game. Certainly will be a day 1 buy for me and will likely rule my life for several weeks.

Only thing I'm kind of wary about is if it will use the same (or a very similar) engine as Fallout 3, because I did not like the graphics or the environments whatsoever in that game.

I've got about 50 hours in to Dark Souls. I should be finished with it by the time Skyrim comes out. If not I'll have to balance two fantasy worlds.....
