The Electric Sheep Thread

Electric Sheep is a free, open source screen saver created by Scott Draves. It's run by thousands of people all over the world, and can be installed on any ordinary PC or Mac. When these computers "sleep", the screen saver comes on and the computers communicate with each other by the internet to share the work of creating morphing abstract animations known as "sheep". The result is a collective "android dream", an homage to Philip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (Copied from homepage)

This is an interesting project. Does anyone else participate?

I fail to understand this, its a screen saver that's online..? I see nothing interesting in it. Now if you share a folder of pictures and it morphed them together and did something cool I would say that's interesting. However this just looks like a Nicer online media player visualization.

I think your computer makes it up on the spot, and share it w/ anyone else who has this program. People then vote for their favorite and it lives on?

Seems interesting.

your computer renders the different combinations of sheep. you vote on the ones you like, and that one mates with other sheep. the ones that get low votes die out
