As evga produces Nvidia cards it might be biased.I am neither a fanboy of either Ati/Nvidia as I have owned both brands of cards in the past.Probably best to see some real world benchmarks by neutral testers first. It would be best to wait till both Ati and Nvidia release their new cards before buying though.I will go with whatever gives best Cost to performance myself.

who might be biased?

its a shame that evga only make Nvidia cards
they must have given them a big pile of money for just doing that lol as there missing out on ati cards profit from selling them

That review is on the evga.com website. That's what he means by biased.

As for Evga only putting out Nvidia cards, that's just the way it is. Like Sapphire putting out Ati cards. Like Sony not putting out chicken dumplings.

i wouldnt be surprised if performance increases a lot once nvidia releases better drivers. and also more games are being released that support physX (games based on the new unreal engine) so that will take a load off of the cpu and thus improving performance for those with nvidia cards. (drivers will be released so older cards can do physX processing) nvidia is pwning ati and it looks like its going to stay that way unless ati makes some changes (better drivers)

ATI's drivers are supposed to be great when they work, they're the reason everyone always totes ATI cards as having better IQ. I would say better R&d, better hardware.

Even if these are close to real world performance, it's a nice boost from the current Flagship GPU. Better than the *renamned* 9 series by a long shot.

based on paper only ati cards should crush nvidia (faster core clocks, faster gddr, and more shader processors) but for some reason ati cant seem to quite put it all together.

Yeah but I don't know that that's the drivers fault. Nvidia get more from their shader pipes than ATI, moreso the comparing the clocks, verily most hard specs are like comparing apples to oranges, it all depends on the way the GPU was designed, it's internal arch.

GPU speed not included, that's 1up in favor of ATI.

i dont see how its not related to the drivers, better drivers would allow faster and more efficient translation between the graphics card and the applicaton, therefore better utilization of ati's supposedly superior hardware, and better performance

I meant RAM speed being 1up, not GPU speed. *facepalm* (it's not letting me edit either)

Better drivers are always a good thing, but like I said, I'm not thinking that's the big weakness of ATI. They're just not designed "better". The 8800gt has a better core architecture, all the other specs mean squat shit next to this.

will any one be buying a 280 or a 260 when they come out or will every one wait for ati and Nvidia to battle the price market and they fall in price?

most people will probably wait for the price to drop. i plan on waiting until i can afford a whole new build with an intel quad core, ddr3, and a gtx280. i just hope we ont have to wait too long for a nice price drop
