Please share any more mods you know.

I got GTAIV a few weeks ago and it works quite well, though I wish I had a better computer so that I could max out the settings.

I've been able to find a mod, which besides functioning as an ASI-loader and allowing further modding, also allows me to get better performance by eliminating the need to have Games For Windows Live and Rockstar Social Club running while playing the game. This also means that I can't play multiplayer, but it's well worth it to get a performance boost.

I also have a mod that tweaks the shaders and another one to give more realistic vehicle handling.

Is there a mod that makes the game playable on my computer?

:)

I haven't played it since I had a quad, around 2 months ago, and, erm..... I've played around 2 hours of the game. thats it. lol

I'd play the game more often if I got more than 17FPS constantly.

I realy dont understand why your system doesnt handle the game very well,You have a similar system to mine but better motherboard...slightly better graphics card (single) not SLI, and yet its performing worser than mine?

I bet if SLI worked it would run great on yours danny.

I tell you now,GTA IV doesnt run very well at all on Xp Pro X64 :D,i think its because of the outdated nvidia drivers for X64 xp....

Lol theres no camera fix for the Steam version for the game.

I can play the game on a mix of medium / low, but. is single player actually worth playing?

Its worth it but it takes a really long time to complete. There's just too many extra's added in.

Yeah, I don't get it really. It was after I patched it. I've updated my video drivers, so I'll give it a shot and see if it's any better.

Are you running it at max settings or something? My laptop gets 25 fps on 1440x900 res and medium settings. (Before I reinstalled)

I can run it at 65 fps.....

I dont think you can run it on super settings if you dont have the hardware? Cause it wont allow you??? If im correct..

Many have reported that they get worse performance after updating to newer drivers. Many also think that one of the early 18x.xx drivers give the best performance, it may have been the 180.84 driver, which was mainly made just to increase performance in GTAIV. I haven't tested this myself, but a lot of people are saying it is true. You should be able to find quite a few threads on other forums like GTAForums.

EDIT: I've read reports of 181.22 giving better performance, compared to newer drivers.

There are commands that you can add to a shortcut, they allow you to go beyond the restrictions when trying to use maximum settings with hardware that the game thinks is insufficient.

The 1.0.4.0 update has been released, I'd suggest staying away from it for a while and reading through this section of GTAForums over the next couple of days. Apparently it's made some things worse, like performance (at least for some), and fixed some others. I wouldn't be surprised if 1.0.5.0 was be released in a few weeks. Plus, most mods won't work until they've been updated as well. Especially ScriptHook, which is quite essential to a lot of mods.

I'm pretty sure that was true though. It goes red in the charts when you try to set higher settings then your allowed to.

That was from the first race with that car dude, I don't know his name, it begins with a D, or a G or a B lol, the one who gets you to steal cars so he can do them up

really disappointed, I bought gta 4 only to find it runs awful on my pc, despite having upgraded my graphics card...
Might be due to my 2.2 duel core, but I can't figure out how to over clock it =(

What dual is it?

I struggle (massivley) with my Dual @ 3.76GHz, this is at 1920 x 1200 Medium/High mix with Draw / Detail @ 25/20
