hey guys i was thinking of building my first comp, now i got all the books and everything but i need help picking out all the parts.
It needs to be around a grand can be a few hundred more or less w/e

i want it to be a gaming rig also so i known that i have to focuss on GPU but can you guys give some suggestions about the parts

and i dont have a clue of what to go with for the processor some people tell me duo 2 and then people tell me amd athlon 64

so can somebody please make a list of the parts i should get?

Core 2 Duo E6600
2GB DDR2 1066
ATi Radeon X1900XTX

(vid card)

And it all depends on what mobo/memory you want. You can pick out any kind you want as long as it's a socket 775 motherboard and DDR 2 memory. Oh, and definately go for a SATA 2 hard drive, and look for a PSU that's 550 watt or more because that Core2Duo and the X1900XTX will suck a lot of power.

so i can probly get a setup that will be around $1000 oh and thanks alot for all the tips and stuff i really appreciate it

hey ahh i dont think that stuff is for me just those too things are almost $900 and my buget is $1000 or like $1100
so can you like pick out some difff stuff so we got down that it will be an intel rig sooo i will pick out the mo-bo with SATA 2 and socket 775 and DDR 2

get a cheaper 7900gt, no point in paying an extra $60 for a card that is slightly overclocked. Here you go And honestly, buy a cheaper case, you don't want to blow like 13% of your budget on a case. Here is a $80 full tower case, for $20.

doesnt mean you cant still go with intel... what the guys chose back there was a fairly top-line conroe chip, you can get a very well performing LGA775 chip that fits into the lower price brackets. Its just most people on here prefer AMD for some unknown reason.... i guess old habits die hard, even when the new release is blatantly better.... lol

Well you can't find a conroe for $90 so he obviously felt like his money was better spent elsewhere on different components
