The PSU - APEVIA ICEBERG

My friend has it. He is running an E6600 @ 3.2ghz stable, 2 gigs DDR2 800, 8800gts 640mb, Xfi Fatal1ty sound card, and it powers his computer fine. The fan in the back is loud, and the PSU is HOT. Extremely HOT. The air coming out of the back seriously has to be around 100* F. It does look cool though.

May run great for sometime, the majority of us here don't like them. Any power supply could pop one day, Apevia is just more likely to do so.

Don't get that junk....

Get this instead, Seasonic, probably the best on the market.

Apevia is made by Youngyear

Realy bad quality, i had a logisys psu made by youngyear and realy cheaply made... and it does run hot too.

I know Corsair makes good PSUs, as does Seasonic. There are other brands that are great too. Just for sure stay away from Logysis. So crappy. I am waiting for my paycheck so I can get a new PSU to replace this crappy Logysis I have.

Heh, i only bought that logisys for $30 because i was waiting on some more money so i could buy this OCZ, now its just for backup lol

Yeah, it's terrible. For one thing, if you look at the combined current rating it's [email protected]. There are 400W PSUs that can put out more usable power than that. Efficiency is poor, and the rated 10% regulation doesn't even meet ATX specifications.

The OCZ is much better. Take a look at http://www.computerforum.com/90117-ceewi1s-psu-recommendations.html for more recommendations.

That really doesn't bode well for the longevity of the unit :)

Just a little tip, Seasonic makes Corsair & Gigabyte PSU's, maybe some OCZ?

Anyway thanks for the help again, but I decided to went with the OCZ GameXStream 700W, because of the $25 mail-in rebate, and alot of positive reviews, and also the blue LED fan light.
