If those were the options id look at the mobo again. Not many mobos support PC3200 and PC2100 simultaneously, and those that do often arent so great in generalIf I were to build a computer, and had a choice between 256MB PC-4000 RAM, and 512MB PC-2100 (where my FSB is 333mhz)
Neither. The 256MB, while fast, would be choked out considering something like Doom3 throws 800MB of crap around all the time. The 512MB wouldnt be very great because its too damn slowWhich would show me better performance for power-gaming, like Doom 3, Half Life 2, Sims 2, Everquest 2.
Indeed -- also have a look at the mobo again.personally I would just get 512 of PC3200. 256mb isnt enough even if it is fast. you could get the 4000 and then plan on buying another 256stick. that would be a good idea...but if you have no planns on upgrading then I would get 512mb of PC32000, PC2100 is too slow IMO
