The results of my cooling system upgrade :)

Hey all!
Today I got a Zalman CNPS9500 LED and an Antec 120mm fan.

Before:
Intakes: 80mm (always low)
Exhaust: 80mm (PS) + 120mm (stuck on low setting)

After:
Intakes: 80mm + 120mm (both stuck on low)
Exhaust: 80mm (PS) + 120mm (variable settings, though always more cfm than old one)

Results:

Speedfan:
Zalman 7700-alcu + stock 120mm fan, highest setting: 60C idle/85C load
Zalman 9500 LED + Antec 120mm fan, both lowest settings: 50C idle/62C load

BIOS:
Zalman 7700-alcu + stock 120mm fan, highest setting: 80C
Zalman 9500 LED low + Antec 120mm fan low: 67C
Zalman 9500 LED low + Antec 120mm fan medium: 64C
Zalman 9500 LED high + Antec 120mm fan high: 60C

Once I get a direct intake to the Zalman CNPS9500......:) :) :)

The only problem is that now my "internal temperature" reading on speedfan is sometimes higher than the CPU temperature. Is that reading of the memory or the northbridge chipset?

Anyway, I'm just excited!! :)

You know, 60 Degree's idle isn't actually that great..even if it is an intel prcessor

But its a DC, they run a fair bit hotter than the Prescotts (Look at mine, I get a 27C idle, 38C load)

My smithfield is basically two prescott cores in one processor. AMD dual cores run substantially cooler than intel dual cores. The main thing I wanted to point out is that the Zalman CNPS9500 LED is a great cooler. I still have a week or so until the Arctic Silver sets in.

Prescotts have higher operating temperatures than their AMD counterparts. Many times, whats to hot for a A64 is perfectly fine for a Prescott.

Yea!!! Today I started my computer to find it was running at 37C with everything high speed. :) Still, other times the temperature has slowly been dropping to around 45C idle, so I'm happy. The only problem: DOWN with the Intel motherboard. I wanna overclock (some, maybe to 3.0)!!

I got my Prescott down to 34C idle and about 59C under heavy load.

Adding case fans is what did it. Just too much hot air in the case, and not enough fresh air coming in.
