Well it's time for me to upgrade and im going to build my own over the next couple months... ive been looking at towers and was wondering what do you guys look for in a tower??? manly excludiong looks and colors is there any real difference's in them???
 
Usually the bigger the better. Get the biggest you are comfortable with. It's just easier for cable management and air flow.
 
i looked a hundreds of cases online before i settled on my new one. i didn't want one that was odd, bulky, extremely lit up, and not too plain. i had it down to a matx cube looking case. but it was too expensive. then i found a thermaltake v3 on ebay. i like the case. of course anything is better than a dimension 2400 case.
 
yea i think im going to go with that package.. is there any other sites that anyone knows of that sells starter kits like newegg??
 
Kits are okay cause it gets rid of the making sure things are compatible issue, but there's alot of knowledgeable people on this forum that I'd trust to 'build' me a comp. Just give them a price range and a website or two you'd like to order from, and they'll tell you exactly what you should get so you get the biggest 'bang for your buck'. So basically it's your own personal custom kit! :good:

That. It's more helpful if you can give a specific price though...if you give a price range, what gets suggested is almost always going to be at the top of it. :P

I've been lookin on newegg and that tigerdirect at towers and mobos that are compatible theres alot of things you need to know but if anyone wants to put out a build list on something that i can use for music/ lots of internet use/ movies and streaming them to my 360... feel free.. ill prolly spend anywhere from 600-750ish on a build
 
To the OP

I don't like the mobo because it is micro, micro = less ports for cards. Basically the board is short.
