The screen is dead

Hi all,
I have a problem and I would like your help. My old pc, a p3 has the following serius problem. When I push the on button to start, it stars working, I can hear the fans, the hard drive, the cd-roms everything seems working BUT the screen don't open at all. The screen seems to take no commands from the computer, it is ''dead'' althought it has power.
After much search I have concluded the following:
-The screen doesn' have any problem because I tried another screen that works with my other pc.
-The video card doesn't have any problem because I have tried another good one for sure and does the same.
-The CPU doesn't have any problem, because I bought another from ebay and the pc does the same.(I suspected the cpu because two weeks ago I have overclocked the pc from 400 to 850 Mhz).
The problem occured after I had the pc outside in the cold (I was using it for digital astrophotography with my telescope). When I got the pc inside, I open it and in the first ''black and white'' frames it found a problem, so I did a usual reset. That was the end. From that time the screen wouldn't open again.

I would very pleased if someone could guide me or give me his opinion in order to find and solve the problem.

Best regards,

When you say you did a usual reset do you mean you reset the CMOS or just the system? If it's the system that you reset, try resetting you CMOS (using the jumpers on the board for the CMOS headers):)

Hmmm

Man the exact same thing happened to my P3. i have no clue i never figured it out. It never took keyboard inputs or displayed anything on the monitor. luckily for me my friend had the exact same pc and gave it to me. Mine was dell!! just wondering what is urs?

Hey, I had the same problem. It turns out it was either my CPU or mobo, not sure because I replaced them both at the same time. I'm pretty sure it was the mobo though. Have you tried turning it on, and then immediately turning it back off, then restarting it? (Using the power switch up front). This worked for me, I could get it to work by turning it off right away and then turning it back on.

I guess mobo is the motherboard. Yes I tried turn it on and off but the problem exists. It's sure I think that if I replace the motherboard the problem will dissappear. But I this should be the last option.
Is there any possibility the RAM has failed? Maybe the thansision beetween cold and warm temperature caused the problem?

Yeah. Maybe try letting it sit for a while, then try it again. I wouldnt think its the RAM, but it could be.
