the sims!

Hello,
i have got the sims unleashed. when i run the game on my computer it sometimes halfway through when i am playing it, it just turns the game off and goes back to the main screen!!! i have got a powerfull pc!

3.2GHz Dual core processor
2Gb Ram
Etc
Etc

why does it sometimes do this?

Firstly "Etc" is not a PC component (just a bit of teasing). You left out one of the most important components which is the video card, what would it be?

It would not hurt to update your drivers if you have not already.

hoew do u do that? i have tried but it says u need to put the disk in but surely it will be just the same! any other suggestions on what it could be?
i have done virus checks but they have all been dealt with!

How do you do what? check for your graphics? or install new drivers?

To find out what your graphics are you can click on "Start" menu, click "Run" then type in "dxdiag" (without the quotes). Under the "Display" tab will be the information for your graphics. Once that is determined then we can worry about updating those drivers. You wont want to use a CD that you have, you'll want to download the latest.

Hi i have doen that and it has come up with:

radeon 9550
ATI technologies inc.
ATI display adapter AGP (0x4153)
internal dac (400MHz)
256mb
1024x768 (32 bit) (75Hz)
Plug and play monitor!

is that all i need! does it look like it needs updating??

These drivers should do it for you (if you have windows XP) https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=293

You'll want to remove the old drivers (assuming you have them installed). You'll remove them the same way you would any other software via "Add or Remove Programs" in the control panel. After you remove the old, you then can install the new.
