The Sound

The sound of the computer dont work i put the cabel back and forward on the computer and it does'nt work why? The speakers work but not on the computer my friends says to install a new sound driveroutine but i dont know how????

Go into your device manager, im asuming you use windows xp or 7 , hold the microsoft button on your keyboard and then hit pause.. this will open your system properties, then go to hardware > device manager ... are there any unknown devices? If not what does it say under sound , video and game controllers
