The Toshiba Qosmio

I'll admit that I'm a Mac guy. However, I'm a staunch HDDVD and Toshiba supporter as well. I found out recently about the Toshiba Qosmio when I googled "notebook with hddvd drive". If I ever went back to Windows, this would probably be the computer that I buy considering that it looks rocket-fast and has an hddvd drive to boot. I realize that this is a behemoth for a laptop with its 17 inch screen, but I was just wondering if it was a good buy in light of its $3,000 price tag?

Anyone? I'm just wondering if the Qosmio would be fast enough for writing, internet browsing, watching HDDVDs, and some video editing. Do you think the technology in the HDDVD drive is mature enough to handle watching several HDDVDs a week without taking too long to load? I know this is a first generation HDDVD drive in there and that's why I'm asking. I'd probably give it 2 gig of memory and whatever their best processor is.
