Looking for an rpg with Oblivion style addictiveness, anyone played the Witcher? Its got decent reviews most places and looks good...

The Witcher is a pretty fun RPG but it's definitely not close to Oblivion when it comes to addictiveness but you will still get quite a few hours of fun out of it if you can disregard the loading times (can be pretty long sometimes). Now Mass Effect can be pretty addictive and sustain most people for a while. Also, you should go check out Aquaria if you want a unique RPG experience.

The witcher was an excellent RPG and now with the deluxe addition they improved upon an already great game. It won best PC RPG last year by IGN and GAMESPOT I think. If you like PC RPG's, buy it!

I'll have a look at Mass Effect aswell. I think Oblivion has been ridiculously over played (certainly by me) and its time i got another decent RPG.

Just bagged The Witcher, ill let you know what i think! Thanks!

Also looking to get Mass Effect soon aswell, hopefully wont be dissapointed.

I'm looking into getting it too, but only an internet-based store sells it here and I'd like to know if it's worth buying.

the witcher is entertaining but i dont love the combat system at all. its a bit difficult (at my settings of course) and quests are sometimes hard to understand.

Mass effect is huge, the combat system is nice, but there are way too many FPS problems for the average/below average graphics (yeah, they dont look great.)

that said i loved both games a lot, but mass effect is the clear winner for me.
