Theres something wrong! plzz help

Hey i dunno where to post this, i'll be happy to know where to because i saw the word 'cooling'
So theres something wrong with the little plastic fan thats under the power supply cord(its the $10 fans)
its spinning WAY too fast, my computer is shaking, making way too much noise.
a few nights ago i could smell smoking coming out of my computer...-.-
does any1 know whats wrong? or how i could adjust the fan speed?yeah..do i need a new fan?

where is the fan plugged in on the motherboard?
Or is it plugged into the power supply?
 
no its just 2 lines from the fan into more ones which makes a while bunch, then the bunch goes to the power supply box
 
Does it have a switch on it anywhere?
If not the only thing I know of to control that is a fan controller.
See what others say though.
And this smoke do ou know around where it was coming from?
Was the pc slowing down or acting up when it started smoking?
 
no, the pc did not slow down or anything..i was playing WoW and no lag at all,and there is not speed control beside the fan =(
where can i get a fan controler?
 
I'll see if I can find a site real quick that ships to there.
You might want to look for another fan to.
And try to find what the smoke was from.
 
o dw about fan, i got a warrenty, i was jus wondering what was wrong. and im pretty sure the smoke was from the powersupply box coz my fan stopped spinning for awhile..i thnk its burnt

Is this a new pc or an older one?
You should probaly look for a new supply before it gets worse.
And get a new fan as well.
It could have came from the fan that could be why its burnt.
See what others think to.
