thermal paste question

will it hurt my 2800+ xp to run it without thermal paste? i just gotta run it for like 30mins + OS installination
 
Depends what the temp is at, i ran my Sempron 2800+ without thermal paste and ir ran fine, temp was around 35-38C idle. I would go into BIOS once you start up the computer and make sure that the temp isnt idling past 55C.

aight, ill go into bios right when it starts up and downclock it to like 1000mhz and check the temps, then install the os...thanks
 
I cant see why you cant just put some on, i'd hate for a hot spot to fry things before you got into bios;)
