Thermal paste?

I recently built my rig and added my cpu cooler and used the stock thermal paste that came with the cooler, cooler master v8. How much of an improvement would I see in temps if I went with a better compound? Thanx in advance

Anywhere from 2-10c is possible depending upon application technique, the paste you switch to, and the quality of what is already on there. My guess would be a switch to arctic silver matrix/shin etsu/TX-3/MX-3/etc would net maybe a 3-4c drop, unless you improperly applied your current thermal interface material.
