Thermal Paste

The last time I installed a CPU in a socket it ws a P75 and no there was no need for Thermal Paste or Heatsink fans. I've always had my CPU's and RAM preinstalled so I didn't get anything DOA. So I'm installing an X2 this afternoon. How much TP should I use? Just use a little bit of paste on both of the cores? I think this will be a little faster then my old P75 Linux machine.

I used like 1/4 of Arctic Silver 5 on my CPU

basically just a small amount spread over the cpu... the link to the arctic silver site is a good guide on what to do

My CPU now is only 22C, does it matter that I put too much AS5?

Mine looks good. I had some weird putty looking stuff on one of the heat sinks for three small chips next to the CPU. It's sticky not sure what it is. Anyone know? It's a huge three part heat sink.

well apart from the fact that it can ooze out from the cpu and heatsink/cpu and go all over the motherboard its considered that it will cause the temperature to be higher
