continuning from the last thread artic silver 5 is a good compound? i hear should reduce temp approx 10c? what is a safe, decent range for my cpu to opperate (nothing over 60c)?

I have a black edition 6400 amd x2, with tt gunmet orb. inside an aluminum case with 4 fans blowing in, 1 out rear....on an amd2 mobo, with xfi plat sound card, 2 gpu sli 8800 gt evga...... is my hsu a good unit(tt gunmet org)?, do i need to change that aswell---------- so 3 things in all, as5--- good compound? temp range for my cpu? is my hsu sufficient, shall i change, and if so what to????

Is there anything else i should look into to decrease temps...... currently i am at 56c. at idle, and with min load over 62.c accourding to bios.

AGAIN THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP, BE LOST WITH OUT U GUYS------

Yea Silver 5 is pretty good stuff, but your temps. are to high for a 6400. Most of the ones I,ve built run around the low 30c at idle and in the upper 30c to low 40c under load. Up and down a few degrees depending on the CPU cooler - case air flow and fans. Never used the CPU heatsink and fan you have. I have always stuck with Zalman - Cooler Master or Zerotherm
