well im running this rig on tha power suply above

intel q6600 @3.4ghz
asus p5k pro
ballistix 4x1gig @1005mhz
raptor 74gig sata
maxtor 500gig sata
ati hd4850 (not overclocked)
sony dvd rw sata
swiftec MCP655 water pump
pci post code analyzer
2 cold cathodes
2 uv cathodes
3 red 120mm case fans
1 220mm case fan

i am not sure if my psu has the guts to run the obove?

also i am buying another 4850 (crossfire) and a asus rampage extreme mobo

i agree i would maybe think of upgrading psu with the extra 4850 in the loop but what about now?

ive tried my friend google but the psu jargon makes no sense to me lol

shed a bit of light for me please?

It will be fine till you add that second 4850 video card, then id recommend upgrading to about 650W.

nope!!!

as soon as i fire up my 2 cold cathodes and 2 uv lights the hard drive freezes! wont boot, the blue liht that indicates hard drive activity sticks on until i switch both off then it boots as normal!

if i boot it up to vista then switch them on it locks up until i switch them off....

i have changed all the wiring etc same problem

Yes, a standard response seems to be on this forum, is to look at the wattage. The wattage is meaningless unless you look at the ability for the 12V rail to deliver the required amperage.

i have no idea what the output on the 12v rail is but im guessing its not enough!

gutted as it's another thing i have to upgrade now for when i get my antec1200 and another 4850

It is definatley not SLI recommended, but look to the corsair 750W as a minimum specs and quality.

yeh ive looked at it but i think ill go higher this time so i can load my antec up with dual loop liquid cooling (2xpumps-2xdual rads 1xsingle rad) gonna liquid cool everything i can get water blocks for lol!!!
