lol, is Thermaltake a "reputable" PSU company?

The 1200w PSU I'm looking at is rated to have an 85% efficiency rating and is made by Thermaltake.

Thermaltake, yes or no? lol

thats what i use mostly. look at the specs also on power supply. I think most would be interested in what protection the power supply would support. works well for my general use.

I've seen good and bad things about them. I think they're the cheaper side of okay. One guy told me that they're crap. They get decent reviews on Newegg, I think. I would be a bit hesitant to buy from them.

Thermal-take work great so far, but never use the higher ends. I only buy them when the price is right.

Thermaltake has such a wide array of decent and then complete rubbish power supplies.Their 1200W toughpower is decent, but If you really need a 1200W, this is the best deal you are going to find on a good one. Short of the Silent Pro gold, Corsair AX1200W,and 1200W Turbo Cool this is one of the best units on the market:

jonnyguru review on it:

However...what system do you plan on running with this? Unless you are running a super high end system you probably don't need a 1200W unit.

I give up, I'm never gonna post about a PSU again, cause I don't know a thing about PSU's except Modular rocks. XD

The only way you are going to need a 1200w PSU is if you plan on having an I7 980x with three gtx480's in Tri-SLI or two 5970's in quadfire. Then MAYBE you need 1200.

What is your planned setup?

No for anything. Their PSU's aren't awful, but for the money there are much better options. Anything from Silverstone, Corsair, PC P&C, Seasonic, etc is going to be much more stable and reliable. Their cases are rubbish, counter-intuitive, expensive, and not user-friendly in the least bit.
