I am having to replace the hard drive in my Sony Vaio PCG-71411L. I am looking to get a Seagate - Barracuda 1TB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive (Model: ST310005N1A1AS-RK) to put in it but I can't find if it is compatible with my laptop. Does anyone know if it is or have any recommendations on a good hard drive to get that is comparable in price?
These compatible? Or recommendations?

Nope, that drive won't work in a laptop as its a 3.5" drive. You'll need a 2.5" drive.

However, the cache on most 1tb laptop drives are only 8mb unless you want to pay over $200 for a better drive.

No, I don't think I really need 1TB but it's a Christmas present and figured I would get as much as I can get since I will be doing a lot of development work on the computer plus recording/producing music and storing cds, etc, on it. I'm sure the 750 will still be more than enough, I just don't like running low on memory and my computer lagging.
Would you suggest the Seagate or the Western Digital that you referred to?
