Things that can damage RAM

I just want to know if there are things that we do which can damage RAM
all I know is that you cant
1. bend the ram
2. force it on the ram slot

what else?????

yes but isnt that being set automatically when you OC?
some depends on the board,my asus board have no over voltage settings

usually you have to put up the voltage yourself when overclocking it.

I had a 512MB stick decide to melt its pins into the DIMM socket on the motherboard. Took alot to rip that baby out of there...then I was very sad I had to buy a new computer...

are the pins on the ram made of gold?

I dont think so... gold pins are only usefull if you plug it in and unplug it very often,. because the quality of the connection doesnt decrease then with golden pin's.. but if its just putted in once, and stays in, it wouldnt make a difference then they could better make the pin's out of silver

gold is a better conductor compared to silver and other metals
